This is nice! I do not yet have a sewing room, but my dream sewing room will have similar essentials. First and foremost, of course, being most extremely inspiring decor. Swords and shields on the walls, nice little patterns in ceramics on the floors, antique ironing board and sewing machine for tables… the list could go on for a very long time. It is so important that the atmosphere be totally “right” or one’s sewing would be a drab. For now I must content myself with Edvard Grieg and Lord of the Rings Making-of features.
Hooray for new sewing rooms! Enjoy creating in there. My sewing room essential is the narrow little window sill behind my machine, where I have current cottons in use, an unpicker in permanent residence, and miscellaneous small tools (like currently a fabric glue pen). Easy, convenient, and a good visual reminder of the craft addict who inhabits this space!
I was very pleased to find this web-site.I wanted to thanks for your time for this wonderful read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you blog post.
Aw, this was a really nice post. In idea I would like to put in writing like this additionally β taking time and actual effort to make a very good articleβ¦ but what can I sayβ¦ I procrastinate alot and by no means seem to get something done.
I am impressed that you are able to keep it so tidy.
I also have my computer and printer, since I do a lot of machine embroidery and other things that are sewing-related on my computer. It also discourages the family from taking it over. π
Well I had only just finished setting it up when I took these photos – not as tidy now as it was then! I like your strategy (keeping it ‘your’ space) Mine’s having it in the garage!
Wish I had a sewing room! π¦
I have some shelves! π These are over stretched due to my fabric stash however. π¦
A sewing room is on my wish list. I am so jealous!
Ooh that’s a good idea. Mine are all in a bundle right now, that would be very satisfying indeed! I love the bunting too! I got it from repurposedmind.wordpress.com π
I have lots of plastic drawers and converted my office desk to a sewing table. My most essential thing in my sewing room is that it is MINE, ALL MINE.

I will have to get myself some fabric glue. I’ve heard they’re amazing, especially for sewing velvet. If only if known about them before!

What! You have been allowed to take over a ‘man cave’! How on earth did you manage that?
